Christmas time's a coming

Christmas came out of the attic yesterday and we are in full swing. Chad doesn't get what all the fuss is about. If it were up to him we would skip all the traditional celebrations. Christmas is still Christmas without all the lights and treat making and decoration buying? I admit I'm one of those people that refuses to bring out Christmas until after Thanksgiving. I scowl at the store clerks bringing out the Christmas paraphernalia in October. But as soon as I played O Little Town of Bethlehem on the Organ for our final hymn on Sunday I could feel the excitement building. Christmas has begun and I intend to enjoy every minute of it.
For FHE G-man gave a great lesson on service and we made of list of some people to help. I hope we can find that giving spirit this year.
I turned on the holiday music on the radio and listened to all the holiday favorites. I've had Let it Snow in my head for most of the day. We dug out the Raffi Christmas Album and listened to Must be Santa and Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer. I get to play Christmas songs at church for the next three weeks. I'm excited to go practice!
I turned off the lights tonight and watched TV in the light of the glowing Christmas tree. I'm itching to get the outside lights up. I can't wait to go light hunting with the kids and find the best holiday light displays in the area.
I know in three weeks I'll have heard every Christmas song there is 20 times and be done listening. I know I'll be ready to rescue my house from the Christmas decorations and get everything organized for the new year. But for now I'm loving everything about the season.

I just wrote a post on how I can't get into the Christmas spirit. Maybe I need to spend Christmas with your family. The TV watching in front of the tree sounds so nice.

I hope you can enjoy the Christmas season always. It has not always been a joyous thing for me. I wish I had some kids around to help me decorate the house and get into the Christmas spirit.

I admit that I love christmas!! I confess to putting our decor up way early!! I love the way the house looks and smells, with the pine and glow of christmas lights! That is one of mine and pauls favorite childhood memories!! It still feels like it did back then to me.
