One of my favorite things to do on Sunday in the afternoon is go on walks with the kids. Normally it is made of me and Kiwi, and some number of kids (0 or more). Luann gets a bit of a break from the crazy that is our house on Sunday afternoons. Now, don't get me wrong: we aren't gone more than a half hour. Kiwi loves it most, and she and I have had many a fun time just the two of us wandering the neighborhood. The other item to note is that this is not limited to just the nice weather days. We have been known to bundle up on cold days and go out for a short walk.
Since we live around fresh water streams and ponds, we often find ourselves near one of the streams a quarter mile away. Sometimes we toss leaves in the water and race them (JW likes to throw in sticks), and we have even ventured into the water a little.
After a day filled with little ones running maniacally around the house, I see now why my parents always made us get on our bikes and go on a walk on Sundays growing up.

Beach Season
When the weather is nice, there is no reason not to go to the beach in May. Just because the "warm" temperature is in the 70s doesn't mean it is not fun, right?
But the hardest part to going to the beach is that there is water everywhere! How can you keep an eye on all the kids?
Who wouldn't want to keep warm in the cool sand?
Really, the best part of living in Boston is the beach. So much fun for no apparent reason: the water is too cold to really swim in until the very end of August (even then not warm), the sand gets into everything (really everything), and the sun gets you burned even though it is not warm. Oh, and by the end of summer, the beach fly's are nasty at biting. But, everyone looks forward to it, and is happy when we are there, so back we go every year.

A Fair-ly Good Month So Far
With May under way, the flowers are lively, the leaves are finally flush on the trees, it must mean it is time for the En Ka Fair! You know, that local town fair that takes your money and leaves a few pictures? Yeah, that one.
The best part was when G-man went in the evening with some friends. Dad was to pick him up, but there was no coordinated meeting location. G-man supposedly had a phone, but was not training in the using of said device. Did I mention that Luann was out of the house for something, and I had to wander the fair looking for a child? Notice that there was not anyone at the house... :)

Spring is (FINALLY) here!!
Spring rolls around and Chad starts finding the picture folders full of flowers and trees. Because after a long dreary winter, they are amazing. You don't see colors this bright in AZ. It's nice to be reminded why we love our town. It's so beautiful in the spring.

Another Ragnar, Another Long Weekend
For the second year in a row, Luann did the Ragnar Relay race down the coast of Mass. Lots of fun for all, including me, when I get to fly solo with all four kids.
Luckily, we are not the most active family, so it really only involved driving G-man and Kiwi around for Soccer games, and cheering them on.

Mother's Day 2014
I love the chance on Mother's Day to really appreciate these beautiful kids that are mine. They are wonderful, smart and kind most of the time. This year Mother's day was the day after Ragnar. Chad was so kind to let me spend the day sleeping and recovering from my crazy race. He knows the best Mother's day is when the wife gets to do whatever she wants. Thanks honey! I love to look at this picture and see how blessed I am.

Ragnar 2014
Another Ragnar down, and this one a bit rougher than the last. We tried a double team this year so everyone could have a running partner. Unfortunately one person dropped out last minute so we had to do a little filling in. Oh, and another runner had pneumonia. So, one lady carried pneumonia ladies bib. One lucky bit was our lone runner was actually a walker. I was one of three of us who took a turn joining her on the course. So in the end I ran about 16 miles and walked another 6. Only 4 miles away from a marathon. I could do it, right?
Here's some highlights from this year's race. My favorite part was roping my good friends from Winchester, Jill and Liz, into running with us. Liz convinced me to do the Leprechaun run back in March to prep for Ragnar. Then we signed up for another couple races this summer. I think I started something here.

Liz and Jill. They're Awesome. |
Cindy and I with our Ragnar Tatoos. We had a seven hour wait after the first leg. |
Some of the Van 1 crew. So fun to run with these women. |
Me Running. I do actually run. It's not all about the fake tattoos and crazy outfits. |
Carrie and I about to embark on our night run. My bandanas are ridiculous, but so is sweat in my face while running. |
The finish line at Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown. It takes a long time to get to the end of Cape Cod. |
Gotta have the fun socks. It just makes a world of difference. |
