Luann and I got a babysitter today to celebrate our 9th anniversary. I took the day off, and we had our birth plan visit at the midwives. Only a few weeks left before the new one comes into our family!
We also got to go to a movie, and we were two of 6 people in the particular theater. Didn't have to sit next to anyone, and we had the best seats in the house!
While we were gone, out babysitter made a cake for us. She ran out of time to decorate it, so I tried my hand at writing on it. The results are below:
Don't ask what any of the shapes are. Even I can't tell.

My Birthday!
I had my birthday on the 9th, and I got to celebrate with Presents! You can never be too old for presents. It is even better when I paid for all of them :)
Seth was really interested in putting in the candles, and made many puncture wounds in the ice cream sandwich cake before we got to the table. I love having the kids sing "Happy Birthday". Nothing beats that.

The Best Way to Wake Up
Early this morning, Mr S decided to wake up early. By early, of course, it means 6 AM. Quite early enough for me. After his morning ritual of running to the front room to stare out the window (always waiting for the trash man), there he is lying in his bed, singing to himself. I can't help but wake up when the song he is singing is "Happy Birthday". But not to just anyone, personalized just for me. Just a reminder that my birthday is a few (five) days away!
